Blades Cottage holds a Hawes AA fishing permit, that allows guests staying at Blades Cottage fishing on 15 miles of

double bank fishing on the river Ure.

 It is noted for its Brown Trout and Grayling. 

Both Fly and Bait fishing are permitted

The river Ure is less than 2 minutes walk from Blades Cottage.
